The traditional way of copying objects from other sheets

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

When copying something, often a combination of symbols and lines, which of course is what a circuit diagram is made up of, from one sheet to another, you can typically do that in the following way:

1.Open the drawing sheet that you want to copy from.

2.Use the COPY CIRCUIT command to select the objects that you want to copy and define a reference point.

3.Shift to the drawing sheet that you want to copy to.

4.Use the PASTE CIRCUIT command to insert the copied objects.

That procedure is fairly simple and straightforward. However, if the drawing sheet that you want to copy from is located in another project, the procedure is in principle identical, but in practical terms, the convenience is limited, to express it mildly:

1.Exit the current drawing sheet.

2.Activate the Project Module.

3.Open the project that you want to copy from.

4.Activate the Drawing Manager.

5.Open the drawing sheet that you want to copy from.

6.Use the COPY CIRCUIT command as described above.

7.Exit the drawing sheet.

8.Activate the Project Module.

9.Open the original project.

10.Activate the Drawing Manager.

11.Open the original drawing sheet.

12.Use the PASTE CIRCUIT command as described above.

This is not a particularly quick or convenient procedure, especially if it has to be repeated multiple times.
