Start value (digit or letter)

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The drawing sheets are divided into a number of rows. This parameter specifies the designation of the first row. It can consist of a numerical value (like "1") or a letter (like "A").

The rows are normally numbered A, B, C, D, and so forth or 1, 2, 3, 4, and so forth. In most cases the row-numbering is made from the top and down. The most common case is to count the rows from the top and down using letters in order to separate them from columns which are numbered with digits.

The point from which the numbering starts is in many cases located in the lower left corner, close to origo. That means that you must number the rows "backwards", meaning with a negative step value, to accomplish a correct numbering according to the normal case that is described above. The step value is regarded as negative if you activate Descending numbering.

In this field you specify the designation of the first row. That is the row closest to the starting point. You can specify, a letter (like "A") or a numerical value (like "1").

If you use Row numbering controlled by columns, this parameter corresponds to the first row of the first drawing sheet within the current document code.
