After the TARGET database has been created by Dynamic OnLine at the request of the Report Generator, but before the Report Generator retrieves the information for the report from the database, it is possible to squeeze in an intermediate step, a pre-processing of the TARGET database, in which the database can be manipulated in any suitable way.
 
This is a powerful and useful method to create customizations, where you need reports that are different from the usual. Examples of what such pre-processing can contain are various forms of calculations such as summaries and the like, but the possibilities are in principle endless, including retrieving information from external sources to supplement the contents of the TARGET database.

 

If you enable this feature, an executable file, such as a batch file, will be started at the time described above.
