Horizontal forms

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In a horizontal form, the rows are positioned in the same way as in ordinary newspapers. The first row is at the top and the last at the bottom. The rows begin to the left and ends to the right. According to the sorting priority, the procedure begins with sorting among rows, and then it sorts within rows. Expressed in coordinates: To sort among rows first is to sort according to Y coordinates. When stepping from row to row in successive order, this corresponds to negative steps in the Y axis (since the positive Y axis is directed upwards). This entails that the sorting of Y coordinates is made in decreasing order, beginning with the largest Y value. The sorting of X coordinates is made in increasing order, beginning with the smallest X value, since the positive X axis is directed to the right.

When dealing with horizontal forms, select the corresponding alternative located to the left in the dialogue box. All other parameters are then automatically set accordingly.
