The concept of opening a project

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

To open a project, means that a project has been activated.

When a certain project is opened, all other modules in cadett ELSA knows which drawing sheets to work with, namely the drawing sheets that are located in the project that has been opened. That is true for the Drawing Manager with which you can create, copy and delete drawing sheets, and open a specific drawing sheet for editing in the Drawing Environment. It is also true for other modules such as the Report Generator and the Translator.

When a user opens a project, the project in question becomes locked for other users. Under normal circumstances, only one user at a time can work in a project. This limitation is achieved by blocking other users from opening a project that somebody else has already opened.

(A project can be reconfigured to allow multiple concurrent users, but that should be regarded as an exception).
