When you select the command, a dialogue box like shown in the figure below is displayed.

In the Drawing objects to modify section, in the top of the dialogue box, you first select what kind of object you want to renumber. The options are:

oTexts (ordinary text objects)

oAttributes (attributes with a specified attribute name/TAG)

oTerminals

In the Settings for numbering section, you have five fields where the renumbering is specified in detail. The table below explains those fields.

Field

Description

Start value

The Start value is the number of the first object (terminal or another corresponding object).

Step value

The Step value is the value that the start value should be incremented/enumerated with for each terminal or other corresponding object.

Prefix

A Prefix is a character or character combination that should be put in front of each number. This could for instance be a colon (“:”). In most cases the prefix is left empty.

Suffix

A Suffix is a character or character combination that should be put behind each number.

Suffixes may be used for Texts and Attributes, but not for Terminals.

Attribute name

If you have selected the Attributes option, you specify the attribute name (TAG) that you want to number here. It could for example be BEZ for item designation.

When you have entered the proper values in the five fields in the Settings for numbering section, you click the OK button.

You will then be asked to select the objects to number. You should then select all terminals or other objects that you want to number. Preferably you can select the objects using a window or similar method.

The renumbering will be made directly and automatically and is executed from the left to the right and/or from top to bottom.
