The Cable list is presented from start sorted on cable item designation and cable core number.

Cables are presented sorted, from lower to higher cable numbers. This is done with a simple alphabetical sorting on the complete item designation. This means that -W100 would for example come before -W99, since 100 is less than 99 from an alphabetical standpoint. (1 is less than 9. 100 begins with 1 and 99 begins with 9. Therefore, 100 is less than 99. Surprise!)

The cable cores within each cable are presented sorted according to any assigned numbering algorithm. If no such assignment exists, for instance if the cable does not have an index, the sorting is made numerically (right adjusted). A numerical sorting gives a sensible result for numeric core numbers, and for core numbers that are equal in length. If the lengths differs and/or the cable core numbers consist of both digits and letters, the result may be somewhat confusing.

You can, however, control the sorting yourself in a conventional manner by clicking the headline for the column that you want to sort on. Here there is, however, no functionality available to reverse the sorting, or in other words to sort backwards.

If you want to go back to the original sorting order, the one that in most cases is the best, and the one which was described in the introduction of this topic, you click on the headline of the column labelled Item designation (cable).
