AutoCAD standard command OPEN (used to open DWG and other files).
Opens an existing drawing file.
Before entering the OPEN command, in applicable cases, you should save the current sheet using the Save DXF command.
When you have entered the OPEN command, you will first be presented with a dialogue box asking you whether to save the content of the current drawing sheet. That question should normally be answered by No.
When running cadett ELSA, the FILEDIA system variable is set to 0, and must be so. Therefore, no dialogue box is displayed when entering this command. A command prompt is displayed instead.
Enter name of drawing to open <default>:
Enter ~ (tilde) at the prompt to ignore FILEDIA and display the Select File dialogue box, a standard file selection dialogue box.
