Revisions can be compared design-wise or sheet-wise:

 

•A design-wise comparison shows the differences in the equipment that the documentation is a description of, like which devices, wires and cables have been added, removed or changed. In a topic name Design wise comparisons, you can read about this technique.

 

•A sheet-wise comparison shows which sheets have been changed. This does not say anything about the described design, only about the documentation itself. Therefore the practical use of this kind of comparison is limited. A topic named Sheet-wise revision comparison describes how you can do that.
