If there are more than two connection points in the current node, the whole situation becomes a lot more complex. In that situation, it is not self-evident which of the “wires” in the node that in fact constitutes the cable core. If that has not been specifically defined, cadett ELSA will make an assumption about which connection the cable core belongs to. If there is one and only one cable core symbol in the node, it will be considered to belong to the first connection (“wire”) in the node, according to current optimisations. If there are several cable core symbols in the node, they will be considered to belong to the first, second, and third connection, and so forth.
To obtain a more predictable result, you are better off using one of two for the purpose suitable techniques, namely “wire-number binding” or “forced connections”.
