Internal and external terminal side

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The terms “internal” and “external” terminal side respectively, should be regarded as designations of the two sides of terminals, which often are used in exactly that way, with external cables on one side, and internal wires on the other. Other usages of course exist, for instance, external cables on both sides in a cross connection, or internal wires on both sides inside a cabinet.

In all these cases, however, the terminals still have two sides, and these should be named something. In cadett ELSA, we have chosen the designations “internal” and “external” respectively, regardless of how the terminal is used.

Internal and external terminal sides are separated in the terminal symbols.
