When you are satisfied with the wire-numbering in the wire list, you can choose to transfer the wire-numbers to the circuit diagrams. You can do this using the Insert button, which is located to the right of the Number button.

 

The wire-numbers will then be inserted in all affected drawing sheets of the entire project, thus storing both the wiring and the numbering, for future use and reference.

 

Whether you want to show the wire-numbers in the circuit diagram or not, you should always store them there. If they are not saved, you cannot edit them later.
